G4 FAREWELL TOUR

Mike went along to the Brighton centre to see G4 on their farewell tour.

'They were amazing' This is the first time, and sadly the last time, that Mike has seen the guys in concert. "I am sorry that i hadn't seen them before, If I had known they were this good I would have gone out of my way to go to one of their shows. I was totally blown away by their harmonies, their sheer professionalism and stage presence, the audience just loved them. Its such a shame they will no longer be performing together as a group. I see a great future for all of them in West End shows etc. If I had to single any one of the 4 out I'd say that Jon was a real star and will go on to great things in the future. World Exclusive - Scientology

Sunday morning at 1 am Mike Rinder (head of external affairs World Wide flew in specially for the broadcast) and Bob Keenan (head of the UK & Europe) for the Church of SCIENTOLOGY, they appeared live in the studio with Mike for a 2 hours session of answering non stop questions from both Mike & listeners.. This was the only time these guys will be doing a radio show anywhere in the world, it was totally exclusinve to Mike Mendoza & Talksport. They came in to counter the BBC Panorama programme from earlier in the week.

Mike M was under fire from some quarters and was accused of 'going easy' on the Church members. Mike says: "I asked the questions that everyone was asking, about brain washing, abductions, aliens etc there wasnt an awful lot more I could ask. I was concerned that nearly all the calls we received were from people who were totally ignorant about the subject. Most quoted heresay and rumours, not one person called in to say they had a bad experience with scientology! I am extremely grateful to Mike & Bob for giving me and talksport this opportunity for a World exclusive"

Mike M discussed with Mike & Bob all the issues brought up by John Sweeney on the Panaroma programme.. Mike M syas "its quite amazing that this television programme took several months to film, edit etc, yet they only managed to bring out 2 allegations against Scientology plus several allegations about their treatment of Sweeney!. I felt that Mike & Bobs explanation about the allegations to be perfectly understandable. The great thing about television is that you can film for months to put together a half hour programme and edit to make it look and sound convincing, I am sorry but in this instance the programme did not convince me in the slightest"

Who Cares?

Amanda Steane was live in the studio to discuss the state of the NHS.


Around 34,000 people die unnecessarily in NHS hospitals every year and another 25,000 are permantly disabled. The Female Python Chats

Carol Cleveland the only female in the Monty Python team, chatted with Mike over the weekend. They discussed Carol's career and what she is up to right now. The Zombies Visit

Colin Blunstone & Rod Argent from the legendary rock band The Zombies were in the studio to chat with Mike about their careers, their break up and their reformation, as they hit the road again after 30 years! Suzanne Portnoy Visits

Suzanne Portnoy makes herself comfortable with Mike!

Suzanne Portnoy spent 2 hours in the studio on Sunday morning taking calls from listeners on all things sexual. Suzanne has written a book entitled The Butcher, The Baker, The Candlestick Maker.
